Community Membership Guidelines

Rules for Community Membership NO EXCEPTIONS

1.You must be at least 18 years old.
This must be shown in your bio or profile information.

2. You must have at least one entry posted on your journal. NO BLANK JOURNALS ALLOWED.

If you use your journal only as a means to view fanfiction and do not wish to post anything personal on your journal, than at least copy and paste the below example as a post ON YOUR OWN JOURNAL: I am over eighteen. I have this journal as a means to view fanfiction on my livejournal. I do not oppose to depictions of m/m scenes and I am not homophobic.

3. No Flaming is allowed. If you wish to give the author advice on grammar or punctuation, please do so in a private message. Do not personally attack anyone. Otherwise, your comment will be considered flame and will be removed along with your membership and a block put on your I.P. address.

4. Often times, livejournal can give a little trouble to people while they post. If you see a post that is messed up, please allow some time for it to be fixed before you start commenting on it. Most authors check their posts after they post and usually work the problem out. If not, please kindly comment.

Please note that images often appear before and after a cut in many of the stories on these sites. If that affects your browser than you may want to adjust your livejournal so that it will hold a placecard for any image on your screen. You can do that within your journal’s settings.

Guidelines For Challenges

CHALLENGE GENERAL RULES

If your story is submitted for a certain challenge, it must be completed by the challenge cut-off date, unless otherwise discussed with a moderator. We are pretty lenient on that for Queer as Holidays and for “Queer as Christmas in July” YOU POST THOSE STORIES YOURSELF. Queer as Christmas “25 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS” challenge MUST be emailed to queerasmod@yahoo.com by the date announced, as a completed story unless otherwise discussed. The Moderators will post the stories because of the way they are arranged to account for the 25 days of Christmas.

If you post a fic for a challenge, you must wait two days before posting that fic, or the updated chapter to any other site. Please try and link back to the community. This gives our communities a special aspect and respect for the challenges.

Fanfic Posting Guidelines

Guidelines for posting Fanfiction

Moderators will have to approve all posts until you are given access to post without approval.

Have a beta. If you do not have a beta Get one. If you feel you can beta your own work and submit your story without one it will be subject to approval or rejection by the moderators depending on the consistency and quality of the work.
USE A SPELL CHECKER, THE LIVEJOURNAL PROVIDES ONE IN THE POSTING AREA (Everyone makes mistakes and has a different style of writing, but there is a level of understanding a fic that must be met.)

ALL POSTS MUST BE BEHIND A CUT

ALL POSTS MUST BE LABLED WITH TAGS:
Example: The Name of Your Fic (separated with a comma and then) The Name of The Challenge
(If for some reason you are unable to label tags please message the community moderators)

Banner and Picture images must be resized to fit on the livejournal theme’s page. (If you have questions on how to do this, please let the mods know they will be glad to help.)

All posts submitted must have a Title form.

If you email your fic, please provide a Title form.

Fics for the 25 days of Christmas challenge must be emailed in an attached document not written within the email’s content. (If you have issues with this please let us know how we can help.)

You must cut any content that is not your title form when posting. (If you do not know how to make a cut when posting please ask the mods for help)

A Title form looks like the example below and you MUST have one before your cut.

This is the example of a TITLE FORM:

Title: My Only Critic
Author: galeandrandy aka foreverfolked
Beta: saturn
Genre: Chapter fic, AU, M-Preg
Short Summary: Justin is an artist. Brian is a photographer and writer who admires Justin's work and suffers from OCD, among other things.
Characters: Brian, Justin, other cannon characters and original characters
Warnings: M-Preg, Circumstantial OOC,Violence,ect...
Word Count:

(With the exception of word count. Every post made as of 9/01/08 must abide by these terms above. Otherwise it will be deleted or not approved.)

FRIENDS LOCK, MEMBERS ONLY!!!! That is the only way anything needs to be posted. The default posting is set to this, don't mess with it. If you have been contacted and have not done this for your previous posts moderators will remove your posts within the next thirty days. You can tell which ones haven't if you log out of your LJ account and find the community. If you see any of your entries while you are logged out, then you don't have those friend/member locked.

If you are crossposting to our community with a link, your journal’s entry must be friend locked.

If you feel you will not be able to complete a fic within a years time. Remove it and post it again when you feel you can. If I see posts made like this and no update for 6 months, a mod will contact you, give you six months to update and then remove it if it is not. (This has been done with many fics already.)

What Kind of Stories Can Be Found At The Communities?

What kind of stories are found here here?
In regards to </a></b></a>queerasholidays </a></b></a>queer_as_xmas

Holiday type of fanfic that go along with challenges or outside influences for each holiday.

For all Communities:

Brian and Justin stories where they ‘end up together’. Stories that are intended to be about the characters of Queer as Folk. Everyone has different opinions or views on the characters and who they are, these communities respect that, though the moderators ask that any warnings be put into use in the “Title Form” for the stories in respect to the changes from cannon known characterization as well as their being an explanation for the change in the character.

No stories are allowed where Brian and Justin die for good.

The main pairing and pregnancies must occur with Brian and Justin.
